SIMPLE STEPS TO FEELING MORE FULFILLED
A - Accountability
It may sound ridiculously daunting, but, honestly, track your time and your money. Keeping a ledger of your time and your money helps you know exactly where each of them is going. There are a wealth of apps available online. I use and recommend Focus-To-Do for timekeeping and Mint.com for tracking my spending.
Microsoft Excel also has both time and expense keeping templates. And for those who unashamedly prefer a pen and paper, that always suffices in my book. Whatever method you use, you want to create a list, to include:
1. Your daily activities – What did you do today? (i.e, driving, working, eating, gardening, etc.)
2. Time expended on each activity - How much time did you spend on each activity?
3. Monetary value of each activity - How much is the activity worth? Perhaps you believe cleaning is worth $20.00 per hour. In assigning the amount, remember that MOST every activity has some value.
4. Your daily earning – How much money did you make today? (i.e., $550.00)
5. Source of Earnings – Who paid you?
If after seeing the numbers, you are seeking to improve your spending habits concerning commodities, both your time and money, perhaps it is time to revisit both portfolios.
Minor corrections to your vision board may prove just the tweak you need. Or, re-adjusting your work/life balance may provide the treatment. And a remedial reset never hurts, if your finances are running, annoyingly sluggish.
Knowing your numbers is key! So, track your time and your money. Afterall, they both have value.
C – Creativity
Start devising innovative solutions for confronting even everyday challenges. Don’t be afraid to get creative, and implement a new idea for even everyday simple household chores and crafts. YouTube and Pinterest truly have the propensity to inspire the extraordinary in everyday, ordinary people. You’ll be surprised that the confidence you cultivate in remedying everyday obstacles with innovative thinking, will empower and inspire you to develop pragmatic solutions for resolving more complex challenges.
T – Target
Hone in on the target! Your goal is to see, and only see, that small middle circle in the center of the bullseye. Avoid becoming distracted by the “outer rings.” The bullseye is in the center, the rest is only there in the event that you miss.
Before you shoot, do you know what the target is? What is/are your:
· daily goals
· monthly goals,
· annual goal,
· 5-year plan,
· 10-year plan,
· lifetime vision goal.
